Join as a Head Teacher in a SEN School in Bournemouth!

Are you a dedicated and empathetic leader with a passion for improving the lives of students with special educational needs? GSL Education are seeking an experienced Head Teacher for a new school in Bournemouth, created to support pupils with diverse social, emotional, behavioural, and mental health challenges. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in building a positive school culture, developing an inclusive curriculum, and making a meaningful difference to the educational journey of every student.

About the Role:

As Head Teacher, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of the new school. Your role will involve setting the vision and ethos for the school, designing a holistic and therapeutic curriculum, building and leading a talented staff team, and ensuring high-quality teaching and learning for all students. You will have the opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team to support the needs of the children, creating an environment where every student can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of the school, including its vision, values, and curriculum.
  • Provide effective leadership to staff, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Design a therapeutic and academically ambitious curriculum tailored to SEMH and SEND students.
  • Recruit and develop a skilled and collaborative staff team.
  • Collaborate with parents, and carers to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Oversee safeguarding and behaviour management policies.
  • Lead the development of student pathways, preparing them for their next steps in education or life.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Holds QTS and has a proven track record in teaching.
  • Experienced in working with SEN, SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour.
  • Ability to teach English/Maths up to GCSE level (BTEC/Entry Level experience is a plus).
  • Strong leadership, management, and communication skills.
  • Passionate about creating a nurturing, ambitious learning environment.
  • Experience in developing or leading SEN provisions.
  • Committed to transforming the lives of young people.
