Are children at the heart of your work? Would you relish the opportunity to work with the Governors and the Leadership Team to shape the future of Catholic education at a one form Catholic primary School in the Archdiocese of Birmingham?

This is an excellent opportunity for a flexible, creative and committed individual to join our happy, vibrant and skilful team.

St Cuthbert’s Catholic Primary School is a one form entry primary school, with a Nursery, in the parliamentary ward of Hodge Hill, in Stechford. In our last Catholic Schools Inspection report it said “relationships are strong throughout the school and are securely rooted in Christ.”

Hodge Hill is now the most deprived area in the city of Birmingham and St Cuthbert’s School motto “Love one another as I have loved you.” is a living, breathing ethos at work within the school. If you believe in servant leadership, taking Christ at the centre of all you do, then you will find no finer example of living service than at St Cuthbert’s.

There are currently 238 children in the school from 3-11 years old and each child is unique and special in our eyes. We serve a diverse community and have excellent relationships with the children, families and parish. St Cuthbert’s is a happy school, one that believes in the joy of learning and play and one that sees the school as a family, working and living side by side.

St Cuthbert’s is extremely proud of its pastoral care and SEN provision, we strive to ensure each and every child reaches their potential, with high standards, dedication to learning and excellent behaviour. Staff are dedicated and hardworking and enjoy being part of a happy and thriving team.

The Governors, in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Birmingham, are looking to appoint a hardworking, inspirational and experienced Leader, to join this friendly, forward thinking School from April 2026.

Is a strategic thinker, with a vision to introduce new ideas with the ability to identify and sustain long‑term improvement. Has excellent communication, organisational and inter‑personal skills. Has a commitment to maintaining and developing positive relationships with our Governors, staff, Parents/Carers, Pupils, the Parish and the wider community. Be resolute in providing the conditions for an effective safeguarding culture across the school.
We can offer you:
  • Dedicated, friendly and supportive Governors and Staff who are keen to build high standards and who are committed to professional development.
