Purosearch Ltd. is assisting Norwich-based veterinary practice in recruiting a Head Veterinary Surgeon to lead clinical standards and team development. The role focuses on governance, mentorship, and delivering outstanding patient and client care.

The successful applicant will drive clinical governance, support staff development, and work with senior leadership to enhance service provision and practice performance.

Qualifications

• RCVS registration and eligibility to practice in the UK.
• Experience in a first opinion small animal practice preferred.
• Strong leadership, mentorship and governance experience.

Responsabilités

• Lead first opinion consultations, diagnostics and surgeries.

This role is ideal for an experienced

Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for

leadership, mentorship, and clinical governance, or for someone looking to take the next step into a

Head Vet / Clinical Lead position.

The successful candidate will play a key role in

driving clinical standards, supporting team development, and improving practice performance, while delivering exceptional patient and client care.

The practice is located in the heart of the

Norfolk Broads, offering easy access to both the coast and

Norwich city centre.

Facilities include:

The successful candidate will be supported by an experienced

Senior Practice Director, Head Nurse, and a highly skilled veterinary team.

Key Responsibilities

The Head Veterinary Surgeon will:

• first opinion consultations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures

• clinical incidents and client complaints, using them as learning opportunities
• Mentor and support veterinary colleagues, fostering a

• clinical and commercial performance
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding
• diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care
• inpatient care and clinical handovers
• Collaborate with leadership to
• develop and expand practice services
• Monitor KPIs such as
• average transaction value and diagnostic rates

Candidate Requirements

• Veterinary Surgeon (RCVS registered)
