Head / Senior Veterinary Surgeon – County Durham

Head or Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly, well-equipped practice in County Durham. With flexible hours, excellent clinical support and outstanding development opportunities, this role offers the chance to lead clinical standards, mentor colleagues and help shape the practice's future.

The Practice

Recently relocated and conveniently located near Durham City and Newcastle, the practice features three consultation rooms, separate cat and dog waiting areas, an in-house pharmacy and a modern theatre.

The team includes two vets, four RVNs, a PCA, SVN, reception team and Practice Manager. Nurses run clinics including weight management and geriatric care, with teamwork and regular case discussions central to the practice.

The Role

The successful candidate will help deliver excellent patient and client care, drive clinical development and support team performance. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced vet who enjoys mentoring colleagues and contributing to a positive, collaborative working environment.

Requirements

• Experienced Veterinary Surgeon with strong clinical skills
• Passion for coaching and developing colleagues
• Excellent communication and teamwork
• A proactive approach to clinical standards and patient welfare
• Up to 33 days' annual leave, with buy/sell options
• CPD allowance, BSAVA library and 450+ courses
• Funded CertAVP/PgCert, including tuition, exams and study leave
• Clinical mentoring and specialist case support
• Health cash plan, wellbeing support and enhanced family leave
