Job summary

IVC Evidensia is seeking a Head Veterinary Nurse for Wellpets - Yeovil to lead the nursing team with clinical excellence. You will set and maintain nursing standards, drive governance, and support the practice director and lead veterinarian in delivering high-quality patient care.

You’ll mentor staff, develop the nursing function, and uphold infection control and QA initiatives while shaping culture and performance across the team.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS.
• Significant nursing experience with leadership responsibility.
• Strong clinical governance and QA focus.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead, inspire and develop the nursing and animal care team.
• Ensure smooth day-to-day nursing operations with high clinical standards.
• Collaborate with Practice Director and Lead Vet within the leadership team.
• Provide hands-on clinical leadership and mentoring.
• Coach and supervise Student Veterinary Nurses and Veterinary Care Assistants.
• Champion infection control and continuous quality improvement.
