Role Description

We are seeking a Head Underwriter for a full-time hybrid role based in Redruth, with the flexibility to work from home part-time. In this senior position, you will lead and manage all underwriting operations, define and implement strategic underwriting frameworks, and ensure full compliance with industry and internal standards.

Your responsibilities will include conducting detailed risk assessments, guiding and mentoring team members, and collaborating with key stakeholders to uphold high-quality underwriting practices. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in balancing strong risk management with sustainable growth, helping drive the company’s continued success.

Qualifications
  • Proven expertise in risk assessment, underwriting principles, and sound decision-making
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills with experience mentoring teams
  • Background in financial analytics, data interpretation, and risk-model development
