Job description

We’re looking for a full-time qualified Head Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and professional team at our small animal practice in Langley (Slough).

Medivet Langley has a well-established client base with over 1,300 active clients and is proudly accredited as a cat-friendly clinic.

The practice features two consult rooms, space for nurse‑led clinics, and x‑ray facilities. We also have access to advanced diagnostics including MRI, CT, ultrasound, endoscopy, and ECG. For out‑of‑hours care, the branch is supported by our 24‑hour hospital in Watford, ensuring continued high‑quality care for your patients.

Located next to the beautiful Langley Park and close to historic landmarks such as Windsor Castle, Langley offers a great balance of countryside and convenience. It’s just an hour from London and only 10 minutes from Heathrow Airport.

The rota is a 4 day week with weekends on a 1 in 6 basis at Watford 24‑hour.

Role Accountabilities

In this role you will:

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
  • Carry out nurse‑led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
  • If relevant: Complete patient transfers to out‑of‑hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
  • Hold briefings to engage and co‑ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.
Your Skills and Experience
  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
