Job summary

XYZ Reality Ltd. is seeking a Head of Mechanical Engineering to lead the development of wearable engineering solutions in the London office. The role includes defining the mechanical engineering strategy and certification processes for their innovative products, with a focus on safety equipment and wearable technology.

The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in product development, particularly in helmet systems and PPE. The position offers a hybrid work model, competitive benefits, and opportunities for meaningful impact within the construction industry.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product development experience with significant exposure to helmet systems, PPE, safety equipment or other wearable products.
• Demonstrated experience leading products from concept through certification and production.
• Expert-level CAD capability and experience working directly with certification bodies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Mechanical Engineering team, providing technical direction across all mechanical development activities.
• Own the system-level mechanical architecture for wearable platforms.
• Drive products from concept through prototype, certification, pilot production and full-scale manufacture.

Wearable electronics integration & thermal management

Injection moulding, tooling & production scale-up

Hands-on, practical approach to engineering challenges

Education

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering or a related discipline
