Cambridgeshire County Council is recruiting a seasoned Head of Service - Urban Estates to lead its urban property estate. The role drives strategic management, performance, regeneration, and financial sustainability while delivering robust professional and commercial advice to senior officers and elected Members.

Qualifications

• MRICS qualification is essential.
• Experience managing a diverse property portfolio at senior level.
• Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills in a property context.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and professional leadership to a multidisciplinary estates team.
• Develop and deliver estate and asset management strategies.
• Maximise financial, operational and social value of the Council's property portfolio.
• Identify opportunities for rationalisation, disposal, acquisition, investment and development.
• Deliver high-quality professional property advice to senior officers and elected Members.
• Lead complex negotiations and significant property transactions.
• Maintain governance and management of property-related risk.
• Build relationships with internal services, partners, developers and advisers.
• Develop colleagues and create a high-performing, customer-focused service.
• Support transformation of Property Services and the corporate estate.
