GXO is seeking a dynamic and commercially astute Head of Transport Operations to take strategic ownership of our Currys contract, overseeing a complex, multi-site logistics operation. This is a pivotal role with oversight of 5 operations geographically spread across the UK, where you'll shape the future of our transport strategy, drive operational excellence, and lead a team of Transport Managers. The role is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis. You'll work on an any 5 from 7 contract between the core hours of 06:00 and 18:00. However, flexibility is essential - this is logistics after all!

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver a high-level transport strategy in partnership with Currys, aligning with key business priorities and contractual goals
  • Lead all aspects of the transport operation across Newark, outbases, and subcontractor partners
  • Design and implement a flexible budget model that adapts to operational variables and emerging trends
  • Drive £250k+ in gainshare improvements through continuous improvement and operational innovation
  • Evaluate and enhance IT infrastructure, data reporting tools, and systematic aids to improve decision‑making
  • Review and optimise contractual arrangements with customers and suppliers to ensure value and profitability
  • Explore growth opportunities across the end-to-end supply chain, both within and beyond the Currys network
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a senior transport leadership role, within a 3PL or logistics environment
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience managing open book contracts
  • Deep understanding of transport compliance, including O‑licence regulations, WTD, and tachograph law
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and transport systems such as Microlise, Tachomaster, and Paragon
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to manage change and drive innovation
  • International CPC
