Overview

HDI is a Corporate & Specialty Insurer part of the Talanx Group. With over 120 years of experience, HDI operates across five continents, around 40 countries and employs over 5,000 people worldwide.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a new team for Technical Steering Specialty Lines (4 FTE)
  • Main contact for CUO and Line of Business for all topics regarding the technical P&L (operational steering model, German GAAP, IFRS)
  • Analyse financial closings, provide commentary and reporting to senior management
  • Establish new controlling and steering procedures for Specialty Lines
  • Supervise and support forecast and plan procedures, ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment
  • Collaborate closely with Line of Business and other CFO departments for seamless coordination and information flow
  • Support the target derivation process and steering activities, playing a pivotal role in driving LoB performance
  • Perform economic analysis for the Line of Business, delivering valuable insights to senior management
  • Engage in project activities, leveraging expertise to contribute to the achievement of overarching objectives
Skills & Experience
  • Passionate and skilled professional with a degree in business administration, economics, mathematics, or a comparable field; further qualification (PhD / MBA) beneficial
  • Prior experience in a controlling, actuarial, or accounting department of a (re)insurance company, or a related occupation
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying information effectively to diverse audiences
  • Actuarial experience, preferably with IFRS17 reference
  • Thrives in a collaborative team environment, fostering positive relationships and contributing to collective success
  • Displays a proactive attitude, eagerly embracing learning opportunities and driving innovation
  • Fluent English skills in spoken and written form, additional proficiency in German is beneficial
  • Advantageous: Advanced technical skills in Excel, SQL and Power BI
