Overview

Senior Leader opportunity on the Claims Leadership Team as Head of Technical Claims. We’re seeking an experienced senior leader to own and advance our Technical Claims function across Motor, Home, Commercial, Complex Property, and Personal Injury in ROI & NI. This is a high-impact role focused on excellence, compliance, and cost effectiveness, with a clear path to shaping strategy, culture, and growth.

What you’ll do
  • Set and deliver a unified technical claims strategy across Motor, Home, Commercial Property, and Personal Injury claims that delivers quality, compliance, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Technical Claims team across multiple lines and markets.
  • Oversee settlement strategies, optimisation initiatives, and continuous improvement across claims handling.
  • Drive business growth and digital transformation by championing innovation, technology adoption, and data-driven decision making.
  • Embed robust data analytics, modern tools, and operational best practices to enhance customer satisfaction and market competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, operations, regulators, and external partners to uphold regulatory standards and optimise outcomes.
  • Build a culture of learning, accountability, and continuous improvement that differentiates us in the Irish insurance market.
  • Monitor claims reserves and ensure financial accuracy and integrity in claims handling.
About You

The ideal candidate is a senior, outcomes-driven claims leader with 10+ years in insurance claims across Motor, Home, Commercial Property, and Personal Injury. Deep knowledge of Irish regulations and a proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams, design and execute strategic claims plans, and drive digital transformation using data and technology to improve customer outcomes and cost efficiency.

  • Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in insurance claims management, with a strong track record in Motor, Home, Commercial Property, and Personal Injury claims.
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required, and relevant insurance qualification such as APA (Commercial & Personal Lines), CII.
  • Customer-first orientation with the ability to leverage data and insights.
  • Demonstrates a commercial focus with highly effective planning and organisational skills.
  • Shows strong leadership with a pragmatic, common-sense approach.
  • Deep understanding of insurance legislation, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements within Ireland.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute claims strategies that balance customer service, cost control, and operational efficiency.
  • Experience in implementing or supporting digital transformation initiatives within claims or broader insurance functions.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using data and MI to inform decision-making and strategy development.
