Jacobs is seeking an Associate Director – Substations (Primary Design) to lead FEED and detailed design for HV substations (132kV–400kV) across UK Grid projects. You will supervise quality assurance, coordinate with back-office engineers and suppliers, and mentor senior engineers to grow capability.

As a senior leader, you’ll drive strategic design decisions, support bids, and nurture client relationships while contributing to industry standards and best practices within a flexible hybrid

Qualificações

• HV substations design experience (132kV–400kV) including AIS/GIS
• Proven leadership delivering multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of UK transmission/ distribution standards and client expectations
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills
• Commercial awareness and business development track record

Responsabilidades

• Provide leadership on FEED and detailed design for National Grid and DNO clients
• Oversee QA, resource planning and capability development across projects
• Lead technical reviews of HV plant design, layouts, earthing and equipment specs
• Coordinate with engineers, sub-contractors and suppliers for delivery
• Manage tender packages with technical and commercial submissions
• Chair design and hazard review meetings and ensure technical assurance
• Attend site visits, FAT and SAT as required
• Mentor senior engineers and support succession planning
• Grow client relationships and support business development
• Represent Jacobs in industry forums and influence standards
