Job description

Finatal has recently partnered with a £600m t/o financial services firm backed by a well-known PE firm in the US. With an EBITDA of £250m, the CFO is seeking a Head of Strategic Finance to strengthen their finance team ahead of an upcoming exit.

The ideal candidate will possess sell-side experience with financial models, due diligence documents, and profitability analysis. Experience supporting asset disposals, business plans, and data rooms is essential. Candidates should have private equity exposure, be data-driven, and communicate effectively with investors. While M&A experience is valued, the role is not heavily M&A-focused. Backgrounds in Big 4 or Transaction Services, including candidates directly from practice, are suitable. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Anaplan is required. There is no sector bias, though preference is given to candidates outside of SaaS industries.

The Responsibilities:

1. Build and review financial models, due diligence documents, and profitability analyses to support sell-side processes.
2. Communicate effectively with investors and collaborate with department heads.
3. Support asset disposals through the preparation of business plans, offline models, and data room management.
4. Present insights and updates clearly to investors and stakeholders.
5. Contribute to the development and execution of 5-year business strategies and exit plans.
6. Utilize tools like Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Anaplan to deliver high-quality analysis and reporting.

The Requirements:

1. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification.
2. Experience in M&A.
3. Background from a Big 4 or Top 10 firm preferred.
4. Private equity experience is essential.
