Job summary

BSI seeks a Head of Solutions Architecture in London to lead the design and delivery of end‑to‑end technology solutions. This hybrid, full‑time role requires steering a team of Solution Architects and owning the Technical Design Authority across the organisation.

You will influence senior stakeholders, drive customer‑focused outcomes, and balance technical and commercial risk while aligning with strategic technology roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of a solution architecture function in a complex tech environment.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving design decisions.
• Strong governance, design authority, and architecture standards knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Solution Architecture function to deliver high‑quality designs.
• Own governance, standards and QA processes underpinning delivery.
• Act as Technical Design Authority for strategic tech leadership.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing team of Solution Architects.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to align with roadmaps and standards.
• Facilitate architecture governance forums balancing cost, risk and usability.
• Manage service performance, SLAs and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify, assess and manage technology risks; support innovation and supplier engagement.
