Job summary

Pure Resourcing Solutions is seeking a Head of Software in Cambridge (hybrid) to own the entire software function for a long-established hardware business. The role covers embedded Linux on FPGA/SoCs, x86 Linux applications, build systems, CI/CD and test, with software managers and offshore teams reporting in.

You’ll drive a platform approach to speed market delivery, maintain product reliability, and unite multiple teams under shared ways of working.

Qualifications

• Experience leading software teams across hardware and software domains.
• Ability to improve delivery speed, predictability and quality at scale.
• Strong embedded Linux and driver/software integration background.

Responsibilities

• Define software strategy aligned with product and hardware roadmaps.
• Lead and develop managers and engineers across UK and offshore teams.
• Provide governance across embedded, application, build infra, and CI/CD.
• Review architecture and code; redirect work as needed.
• Represent software with hardware, firmware, product and exec team.
