Head of Sales (FMCG)

Salary: £70,000 £80,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent

Overview

The Head of Sales will report directly to the Commercial Director and will be responsible for leading, managing, and developing the entire sales function. This role requires a strategic and commercially minded leader who can design and deliver an effective sales strategy across multiple channels and markets, ensuring sustainable and profitable business growth.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
  • Foster a culture of performance, accountability, continuous learning, and improvement.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Identify training and development needs to enhance team capability and cross-functional performance.
  • Provide coaching, support, and accurate performance measures for direct reports.
Customer & Account Management
  • Build strong working relationships with key customers across all channels.
  • Proactively manage major customer accounts to drive sales and profitability.
  • Develop a strong network of contacts and seek opportunities for new and existing customer engagement.
  • Implement effective Key Account Management processes for strategic customer focus.
Sales Strategy & Business Growth
  • Develop and deliver a robust sales strategy that covers multiple geographies and market channels.
  • Identify, evaluate, and convert new business opportunities in existing and new markets.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and secure long-term agreements that support profitable growth.
