As part of the CPC Foods Group, we’ve proudly operated in Coventry since 1983, building a reputation for quality, innovation and long-term stability. This is an outstanding opportunity to shape site-wide SHE strategy, influence culture at every level and drive continuous improvement across a busy, dynamic food manufacturing environment.

The Role

As Head of SHE, you will lead the development and delivery of our Safety, Health & Environment strategy, ensuring best-in‑class standards, compliance and continuous improvement across the site.

You will be a visible leader who champions a proactive safety culture, empowers operational teams and ensures environmental responsibility remains a core business priority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the site SHE strategy in line with business objectives and CPC Group standards
  • Drive safety leadership and continuous improvement using NEBOSH/IOSH Plan‑Do‑Check‑Act principles
  • Maintain and improve the site Safety Management System, ensuring compliance and effectiveness
  • Identify, quantify and manage significant SHE risks across the operation
  • Monitor and challenge SHE KPIs to deliver measurable improvements
  • Conduct regular health, safety and environmental audits to ensure legal compliance and best practice
  • Deliver engaging SHE training programmes, including emergency procedures and workplace safety
  • Ensure all plant, machinery and equipment inspections are completed in line with legislation, including PUWER requirements
  • Manage environmental compliance, including hazardous waste, pollutant monitoring and sustainability initiatives
  • Support and influence a positive culture of accountability, ownership and operational excellence.
About You

We’re looking for a confident and experienced SHE professional who can influence at all levels and lead by example.

You will ideally have:

  • NEBOSH Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science or related discipline
  • Proven experience in a senior SHE leadership role within manufacturing or food production
  • Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation
  • Experience with ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems
  • A track record of driving sustainability and environmental improvement initiatives
  • Excellent leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical, reporting and risk assessment capabilities
  • The ability to develop policies, influence culture and deliver meaningful change
