Job summary

Church of England in the Diocese of Southwell seeks a Director of Safeguarding to provide professional leadership and management of safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults. You will lead safeguarding resources and be accountable for the safeguarding strategy across the Diocese, Cathedral and parishes.

Working with the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisory Panel and its Independent Chair, you will embed a trauma-informed culture, ensure compliance with national safeguarding standards, and

Qualifications

Senior-level safeguarding practitioner with strategic leadership experience.
Ability to embed trauma-informed safeguarding culture across the Diocese.
Accountable for safeguarding strategy for DBF, Cathedral and parishes.
Adherence to Church of England safeguarding principles, policies and guidance.

Responsibilities

Lead safeguarding strategy development and ongoing safeguarding activities.
Provide single, professional line management for safeguarding resources.
Collaborate with DSAP and Independent Chair for scrutiny of practice and outcomes.
Support strategic planning and decision making as part of Jubilee House Leadership Team.
Oversee safeguarding cases and lead on complex matters.
Embed external audit learnings and drive continuous improvement.
