Job summary

The National Oceanography Centre invites applications for the Head of Reporting Transformation in Southampton. You will lead the Reporting Transformation Programme to shape how the organisation uses reporting, data and business intelligence to support planning, decision-making and performance across functions.

You will establish data architecture, governance and reporting frameworks, and partner with senior stakeholders to drive change and deliver sustainable improvements in reporting capability.

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a significant transformation of reporting and analytical capability across the National Oceanography Centre.

As Head of Reporting Transformation, you’ll lead the Reporting Transformation Programme, developing a clear roadmap and long-term vision for how NOC uses reporting, data and business intelligence to support planning, decision-making and organisational performance.

Working across the organisation, you’ll bring together data from key systems and sources to create a more integrated, accessible and meaningful view of organisational performance. You’ll lead the development of modern business intelligence and reporting capability, reducing manual processes and creating better insight for Executive and management decision-making.

You’ll play a key role in establishing the data architecture, reporting frameworks and governance needed to create sustainable improvements, while leading a complex programme of organisational change and working closely with senior stakeholders across NOC.

About You

You will be an experienced reporting, analytics, business intelligence or data transformation professional, with a strong track record of delivering complex change across multiple business functions and systems.

You’ll be confident working with senior stakeholders, turning complex business requirements and data into practical solutions that support better decision-making. You’ll have experience developing reporting frameworks, data models and management information solutions, alongside a good understanding of data governance, information management and business intelligence principles.

You’ll be a confident and collaborative leader who can create and communicate a clear vision, challenge existing approaches and identify opportunities to improve how we work. You’ll be comfortable making decisions in complex environments, influencing others and leading change through to delivery.

Location

This position will be based in Southampton. The centre is well connected by public transport and has ample cycle parking in addition to free onsite car-parking with over 40 EV charging points.
