Overview

Head of Reparations

Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust

Salary: £92,000 plus benefits

Contract: 3-year fixed term role, 35 hours per week

Location: Hybrid/York

Main purpose and scope of the job

To develop and implement a comprehensive reparations programme which furthers JRCT's charitable purposes for the public benefit and to act as a member of the senior leadership team.

Responsible for: External advisory group, Intermediaries, Community Partners, legal advisors and other consultancy roles as required

The Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust - a grant-making organisation working for a more peaceful and just society - is recruiting a head of reparations to develop and lead the next phase of our work responding to the histories connected to our endowment.

As a member of the senior leadership team, and working with our chief executive and board, the postholder will design and lead a reparations programme that advances our charitable purposes for the public benefit and is aligned with our Quaker values.

Responsibilities

• Key responsibilities include the development of a strategic plan;
• the development and management of relationships with community partners, historians, and legal experts;
• oversight of budgets and reporting;
• and partnership work with our leadership team to co-create a transparent and inclusive approach alongside our other strategic commitments.

Qualifications and profile

The successful candidate will combine experience of leadership and strategic decision making, programme management, and a proven track record of managing complex projects and leading teams, with a commitment to ethical practice and JRCT's values.
