A charitable organization in the UK is seeking a Head of Reparations to develop and implement a reparations programme. Salary: £92,000 plus benefits
Contract: 3-year fixed term role, 35 hours per week
Location: Hybrid/York
To develop and implement a comprehensive reparations programme which furthers JRCT's charitable purposes for the public benefit and to act as a member of the senior leadership team.
Reports to: Chief Executive
Responsible for: External advisory group, Intermediaries, Community Partners, legal advisors and other consultancy roles as required
The Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust - a grant-making organisation working for a more peaceful and just society - is recruiting a head of reparations to develop and lead the next phase of our work responding to the histories connected to our endowment.
As a member of the senior leadership team, and working with our chief executive and board, the postholder will design and lead a reparations programme that advances our charitable purposes for the public benefit and is aligned with our Quaker values.
This is a rare opportunity to help shape an important and evolving area of work. The successful candidate will combine experience of leadership and strategic decision making, programme management, and a proven track record of managing complex projects and leading teams, with a commitment to ethical practice and JRCT's values. They will bring a balanced and pragmatic approach - comfortable working where ideal solutions may need adapting to real-world constraints - and be flexible and able to travel in the UK and internationally.
