Job summary

Russell Taylor Group is seeking a Head of Quality (GMP) in Greater Manchester to lead the Quality function across manufacturing, QA and QC. The role drives a robust QMS, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement while shaping quality strategy to support growth.

The ideal candidate will have significant GMP leadership experience, a scientific degree and strong stakeholder, communication and people leadership skills. Salary circa £60,000–£65,000 with permanent, on-site work.

Qualifications

• Degree in a scientific discipline;
• Senior leadership experience in GMP-regulated pharma environments;
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, regulatory compliance, validation and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions across the site.
• Develop and implement quality strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) and GMP compliance standards.
• Lead regulatory, customer, and internal audits and inspections.
• Oversee CAPA, deviations, change controls, risk management and validation activities.
• Ensure quality documentation, SOPs, and technical agreements remain inspection-ready.
• Monitor and report on quality KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage departmental budgets, resources, and succession planning.
• Coach, mentor, and develop quality teams to deliver high performance.

A growing and highly regulated pharmaceutical organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Quality to lead its Quality function and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing, quality assurance, and quality control operations.

This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining an effective Quality Management System (QMS), leading audits and inspections, and developing a high-performing quality team. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping quality strategy while supporting operational excellence and business growth.

Key Responsibilities
