Job summary

Morgan Hunt UK Limited is seeking a Head of Quality & Compliance to lead QA, compliance and continuous improvement across a diverse FE provision in Derby. You will report to the Vice Principal, Quality of Education, and drive inspection readiness and strategic quality initiatives.

The role requires extensive FE QA experience, Ofsted framework expertise, and strong leadership along with the ability to analyse data and influence senior stakeholders to deliver exceptional learner outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading quality assurance and improvement in Further Education.
• Strong understanding of Ofsted's Education Inspection Framework.
• Experience managing change across large organisations.
• Excellent analytical, report-writing and data interpretation skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of curriculum quality, assessment practices and awarding body requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement the college's quality assurance and continuous improvement strategy.
• Take ownership of the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
• Analyse performance data and provide insightful reports and recommendations to senior leaders.
• Develop and maintain inspection readiness, supporting curriculum teams in preparation for Ofsted inspections.
• Lead quality improvement projects and drive measurable improvements in teaching, learning and assessment.
• Oversee awarding body compliance, Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) processes and external quality activities.
• Ensure subcontracted provision meets the same high standards as direct delivery.
• Lead and manage a team of Improvement Practitioners, Voice Coordinators and the Regulations Manager.
• Develop innovative approaches to learner, employer and stakeholder voice activities to improve quality and satisfaction.

Location: Derby
Salary: £55,162 per annum
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Head of Quality & Compliance to join a high-performing leadership team and play a pivotal role in driving quality assurance, compliance and continuous improvement across the college.
Reporting directly to the Vice Principal, Quality of Education, you will lead the development and implementation of quality strategies that enhance learner achievement, curriculum performance and the overall educational experience across a diverse provision including Study Programmes, Apprenticeships, Adult Learning, High Needs and Subcontracted Provision.
This is an exciting opportunity for a quality professional with a strong understanding of the FE sector, Ofsted requirements and quality improvement methodologies to make a significant impact at both a strategic and operational level.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
• Assessor and IQA qualifications.
• Level 2 English and Maths.
• Significant experience leading quality assurance and improvement within Further Education.
• Strong understanding of Ofsted's Education Inspection Framework.
• Experience managing and influencing change across large organisations.
• Excellent analytical, report-writing and data interpretation skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of curriculum quality, assessment practices and awarding body requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable

• Experience as an Ofsted Inspector.
• Project management experience.
• Experience working directly with awarding bodies.
• Master's degree in Education or a related field.
• Leadership and Management qualification above Level 3.
