Torbay Pharma are currently seeking a new Head of QC to join our team in Paignton on a permanent basis. You will lead and manage all Quality Control activities, ensuring our products meet the highest regulatory, customer, and internal standards. This is a pivotal leadership role, ensuring compliance with GMP and pharmaceutical regulations while driving continuous improvement across the QC function.

About the Role

Reporting into the Chief Quality and Technical Officer, you will lead a team across Chemistry, Stability and Microbiology to ensure the quality and safety of our products. As a member of the Senior Leadership team, you will be named on our manufacturing license, taking the lead on audits and inspections and generally ensuring compliance across the labs.

What you can expect in a Head of Quality Control role at TP :

• Oversee all QC operations, including raw materials, in-process, and finished product testing.
• Acting as a Lead SME for Quality Control function
• Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, MHRA, and other relevant regulatory standards.
• Develop and implement robust QC strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing QC team.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with all areas of the business
• Manage QC budgets and resources effectively.
• Analyse and interpret complex analytical data
• Actively involve and lead audits,
• Oversight of the technical transfer process from product development.
• Generating reports and other scientific papers for both internal and external use

What are we looking for :

• Degree in Chemistry,Microbiology,Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related discipline.
• Extensive experience in QC within pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of GMP and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
