Job summary

A leading investment firm based in Bristol is seeking an experienced Prudential Risk professional to lead the Prudential Risk Framework within the Enterprise Risk Team. You will ensure strong capital adequacy processes and help drive regulatory strategy. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Financial Services, a strong understanding of the FCA guidelines, and excellent communication skills. Qualifications

As part of Hargreaves Lansdown's risk management evolution, we are seeking an experienced Prudential Risk professional to lead the Group's Prudential Risk Framework and all related activity for the Group as part of the Enterprise Risk Team. You will ensure that HL has a strong capital adequacy and liquidity processes, a strong ICARA and understands the requirements set out by applicable regulators.

What you'll be doing
  • Own the Hargreaves Lansdown Prudential Risk Framework, aligned to the Group ERMF.
  • Leading the implementation of the framework, working with the department heads and team members, driving cultural change across the function.
  • Influencing senior stakeholders across the business, using understanding of the framework and the broader regulatory environment in which HL operates to help drive strategy.
  • Facilitating enhancements to our control frameworks on the back of internal and external audit and ensuring adherence to the IFPR regime.
  • Oversee the use and maintenance of the Group's statistical modelling tool, to ensure it is fit for purpose
  • Production of regular ICARA reporting including the Annual ICARA for Plc approval
  • Support the Head of Enterprise Risk in overseeing the Financial Risk profile.
  • Deputise for the Head of Enterprise Risk as required
About you
  • Experience in a similar role within Financial Services
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the FCA Handbook and its application, and on the requirements for HL as an IFPRU firm
  • Detailed understanding of credit, liquidity and market risk as they impact on HL
  • Commercially astute in the IFPR regime, its application and the ICARA
  • Market awareness of the current key risks facing financial services organisations
  • Engaging communicator, able to navigate complexity in a simple manner
  • Operate with integrity and gravitas, developing trust and credibility across the business
  • Able to engage others on new agenda items to achieve common goals
  • With a collaborative style, accomplished at forging effective relationships at all levels
  • Proven ability to influence and negotiate senior and executive colleagues
  • Confident escalating risks to relevant levels and challenge as required
  • Industry recognised qualification, e.g. IRM, CISI, GARP & or qualified accountant would be advantageous
Interview process

The interview process will entail 2 stages, including a presentation and psychometric assessment.

Working Schedule

We are based in Bristol, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office, however for this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern to enable you the option of working from home and coming into the office.
