A leading social housing provider is seeking a Head of Property Compliance to lead the strategic oversight and assurance of compliance activities, ensuring customers' safety in their homes. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership, manage a large social housing asset portfolio, and collaborate across departments. This hybrid role requires excellent data analysis skills and a professional qualification in a related discipline. A full UK driving licence is also essential.
As Head of Property Compliance you'll be leading the team that delivers strategic oversight and direction for activities which are designed to keep our customers safe in their homes. You'll be a member of the Health & Safety leadership team, with responsibility for strategic property compliance whilst delivering a programme of assurance in relation to the compliance.
You’ll come to the role having built your career in property compliance, with the ability to deliver effective assurance in relation to compliance activities that are in line with statutory, regulatory and policy requirements.
A key responsibility for the role will be data validation alongside second line assurance of all compliance workstream operations, records and data.
We invest in our colleagues because we know if they have a better day at work, the service our customers receive will be better. The Aster Offer is our offer to our colleagues to ensure they have a great day at work and includes things like:
You’ll come to the role professionally qualified in a construction or building safety related discipline at degree level or equivalent and will be able to demonstrate your relevant career experience.
You will have significant experience in managing the compliance aspects of a large social housing asset portfolio and working in social housing property compliance at senior manager or Head of Service level.
You’ll naturally lean toward a coaching style and will be able to use this to enhance the skills, knowledge and capability with your team and the wider business.
You won’t be phased by data analysis and will be able to extract and analyse data from large datasets. You'll be able to spot trends and complete gap analysis, writing clear and concise reports and business cases to enable senior leaders to make fully informed strategic decisions.
You’ll understand how business activities in Procurement, Finance, ICT, Governance and Health and Safety can all play a part in great outcomes and you will be able to develop strong working relationships with these teams to ensure property compliance is a factor whenever appropriate.
This is a hybrid role and as such you can choose to base yourself mostly from home. There will be the need to attend meetings face to face from time to time so having a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes will be important.
Aster has £2.5 billion worth of social housing assets with a diverse mix of houses, high and medium rise buildings, care homes and commercial property. The Group is also an active developer and reinvests profits from open market sale and shared ownership to support the development of affordable homes. It owns and maintains over 37,000 homes and employs over 2,000 people.
All candidates will be required to verify their right to work in the UK prior to commencement of employment with the Aster Group & its subsidiary brands.
