Astute's Renewables team is partnered with established anaerobic digestion business who design, build, own and operate assets. They're looking to recruit a Head of Projects to lead and oversee the successful delivery of strategic projects from initiation to completion.

Responsibilities and duties of the Head of Projects role

• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in alignment with business objectives.
• Lead and mentor project teams, ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities.
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.
• Monitor project progress and performance, resolving issues and mitigating risks.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, sponsors, and senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement in project management methodologies and tools.
• Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders
• Provide leadership and direction to project managers, and ensures best practices in project governance and risk management
• Other duties as required

Professional qualifications

• NVQ 5, HNC/HND/Degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Project Management Certificate.
• HSE Certification in Managing Safely.
• Full UK Driving license.

Personal skills

• Proven experience in project or program management, ideally in a leadership role.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, PRINCE2, PMP)
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
