About The Role

Head of Project Management Office
Based across our three locations (Bristol, Barnstaple, Beckington) with a mix of office and home-based working.
Up to £85k depending on experience and full benefits.

Join us. As Head of Project Management Office you will lead the PM professional discipline, covering the people, processes, and tools used to deliver project management capability within SEA, contributing to company objectives through effective project delivery.


Your work will support SEA’s effective & efficient project definition, delivery, execution and controls; knowledge and learning, reporting, data integrity; resource planning & allocation and project governance. This is a great opportunity to take on a critical role during a period of exciting growth for SEA, and drive best practice and learning across the business to support our strategic goals.


The Project Management Office Will Support


  • Project Governance - ensuring a structured approach to govern projects involving various stakeholders, team members, project managers, sponsors, investors, clients, etc.

  • Plan and Schedule Resource Efficiency - ensuring enterprise resources are utilized efficiently and the right resources are allocated to the right project at the right time.

  • Project Reporting - centralised project information, defining and delivering reports to the right stakeholders at the right time, so that people can make informed and timely decisions for project success.

The Skills You Need

As Head of Project Management Office, you’ll be a proven and seasoned project management practitioner with significant experience at a functional level. You’ll bring experience of setting up PMOs, defining processes, procedures and standards, and an ability to chart a course for our discipline through a busy period of growth. You’ll be:



  • Competent in building networks with applicable stakeholders and staff at all levels and departments across the business.

  • Knowledgeable and experienced in all phases of projects from inception, planning and organisation, monitoring & control and closure.

  • An expert in risk and opportunity management, project governance and reporting.

  • Experienced in the definition, improvement, tailoring and training of organisational project management processes.

  • Qualified or working toward qualifications with the APM.

  • Experience of working in a defence of systems engineering context is ideal but not essential.
