Job summary

A respected leader in processing and packaging equipment is seeking a Head of Project Management in the UK. This role involves overseeing the performance of all UK projects, establishing best project management practices, and building effective relationships with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead high performing teams. This position is primarily field-based with extensive travel and some time at the company HQ.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in project management across high value capital equipment projects.
  • Knowledge of the food industry is an advantage.
  • Experience in building high performing project management teams.

A highly respected, well established leader in processing and packaging equipment, the business has grown its international footprint to become a global leader, working in partnership with some of the world’s best loved brands.

Job responsibilities
  • Oversee the overall performance of all UK projects aligned with company objectives and ensure projects stay on track.
  • Establish and implement a best practice, project management approach, aligned to company objectives.
  • Build effective working relationships with customer stakeholders, providing support and expertise as required.
  • Provide effective management of supplier and sub-contractors throughout projects.
  • Ensure business leaders are kept abreast of project progress and new opportunities with effective reporting tools.
  • Encourage, motivate and support the PM team; acting as a role model and ambassador for the company values and behaviours.
  • Build a culture of team cohesion and instil a shared commitment to PM excellence and performance improvement.
  • Instil a mindset of positive collaboration and teamwork with the PM team, across broader cross-functional teams and with external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience and track record of project management across high value capital equipment projects, knowledge of the food industry would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge and appreciation of current PM best practice and experience of applying this to in-company approaches.
  • Experience in building high performing project management teams.
  • Confident and articulate when communicating across all audiences with a strong ability to resolve challenges and drive collaboration.
  • Technically qualified in project management, ideally with a background in engineering.
  • Primarily field based with extensive travel across the UK, 1-2 days pw at company HQ (centrally based).
