Job description
Head of Product – DeterTech | UK

We are looking for a commercially focused, hands‑on Head of Product to lead our product discipline and shape our product strategy. This role does not carry direct line management but will influence and collaborate across engineering, sales, marketing, and operations. You will act as the product owner, setting the product agenda and ensuring delivery against it.

Department: Marketing

Location: United Kingdom

Compensation: £75,000 – £85,000 per year

Key Responsibilities
  • Define, own and articulate the product strategy and roadmap in close partnership with the Executive team, especially the Director of Engineering.
  • Provide functional leadership to the product discipline, setting standards, frameworks, and focus.
  • Drive alignment across the organisation — translating commercial priorities into product outcomes, and bridging technical and business functions.
  • Maintain close relationships with customers and users to ensure products solve real‑world problems and support long‑term adoption.
  • Guide prioritisation and sequencing of initiatives across the business, balancing innovation with scalability, platform performance and delivery velocity.
  • Serve as the product voice on the leadership team — ensuring product is positioned as a driver of business growth and market differentiation.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, data‑led decision making, and continuous improvement across the product function.
Candidate Profile
  • Experienced product leader with a track record of shaping and executing product strategy in high‑growth B2B environments, managing both software and hardware products — ideally PE‑backed organisations.
  • Demonstrated success influencing product direction and team execution without direct reporting lines.
  • Commercially minded and outcome‑driven — understands how to align product with revenue, customer success and operational efficiency.
  • Adept at partnering with Executives, Engineering and Sales to turn vision into actionable, scalable product delivery.
  • Strong communicator, able to bring clarity, challenge and direction across functions and seniority levels.
  • Comfortable working at pace, balancing short‑term wins with long‑term product evolution.
  • Confident engaging directly with customers, gathering insight and advocating for product within commercial conversations.
  • Analytical thinker with strong product instincts and a high degree of customer empathy.
  • Highly effective at operating within lean, high‑performance environments with a ‘roll‑up‑your‑sleeve’ approach.
