Job summary

VIQU IT is seeking a Head of PMO to operate within a CIO/CTO function, managing a multi-programme IT transformation portfolio from Horsham (hybrid on-site). The role is senior, portfolio-level and requires gravitas to challenge senior stakeholders while delivering governance, financial control and executive reporting across a £20m-£40m portfolio.

The incumbent will partner with Programme Directors and Finance, oversee RAID and dependencies, and provide portfolio-wide visibility with dashboards

Qualifications

• Previous PMO leadership experience within a CIO organisation, supporting multiple technology programmes at portfolio level.
• Strong background in governance, executive reporting, financial management and portfolio oversight across complex IT transformation environments.
• Experience delivering infrastructure, cyber or wider technology programmes, with the confidence to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments and leading PMO teams or communities to drive consistency and best practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead PMO delivery across a £20m £40m portfolio of technology programmes, ensuring strong governance, financial control and delivery oversight.
• Provide portfolio-level reporting across multiple programmes, managing RAID, dependencies, change control, resource planning and executive dashboards.
• Drive consistency across the wider PMO community, partnering with Programme Directors and Finance to oversee budgets, forecasting and portfolio performance.
• Produce executive reporting for Portfolio Boards and SteerCos, proactively identifying risks, challenging stakeholders and ensuring an accurate view of portfolio health.

VIQU have partnered with a leading organisation seeking an experienced Head of PMO to join its CIO / CT&O function, supporting a complex portfolio of IT transformation programmes. This is a senior portfolio-level role working alongside Programme Directors to drive governance, financial control and executive reporting across a £20m £40m change portfolio.

This is not a traditional PMO leadership role. We're looking for someone with previous experience working within a CIO organisation, supporting multiple programmes rather than a single project. You'll need the gravitas to challenge senior stakeholders, provide a portfolio-wide view of delivery, and thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving technology environment.
