Job summary

Miraxis seeks a Head of Physical AI to establish and lead its AI research and engineering function in London. You decide which Physical AI problems to tackle, define testing protocols, and stay directly involved in the most important technical work.

This player-coach role blends hands-on model development with building a small team, aligning data strategy, evaluation, and deployment on physical systems, with an emphasis on reproducible evidence and strategic customer interactions.

Qualifications

• Deep, direct Transformer expertise with architecture or training decisions in substantial systems.
• Physical AI or embodied-system experience with real-world validation.
• Hands-on technical ability: strong Python and PyTorch, ability to read code and run experiments.
• Technical leadership: directed research/engineering efforts and cross-functional teams.
• Evaluation, communication, and judgment: robust held-out tests and clear uncertainty.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction with a focused research and engineering roadmap.
• Own Transformer research and engineering for embodied tasks.
• Connect models to data strategy and specify sensors, annotations, and quality controls.
• Own evaluation systems with offline and real-world tests and gates.
• Move projects onto physical systems with safe test plans and deployment.
• Build and lead a small technical team and mentor engineers.
