Job summary

Walthamstow School for Girls invites applications for a Head of Physical Education to lead a vibrant PE department within the Performing Arts faculty. You will develop and deliver an innovative PE curriculum, inspire students with a passion for sport, and demonstrate creativity and exemplary teaching across dance, gymnastics, athletics and team sports.

Trampolining qualification is desirable. The role includes developing extra-curricular sport, leading fixtures, and contributing to safeguarding

Head of PE TLR2B (Outer London £5,872.00 per annum) Required for January 2027

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Head of PE. As a member of our Performing Arts faculty, you will be responsible for developing and delivering an innovative PE curriculum. Your outstanding classroom practice will help to inspire our students with your own love of learning. You must be able to demonstrate creativity as well as an excellent subject knowledge in teaching a wide range of sports including dance, gymnastics, athletics and a variety of team sports. You should be qualified to teach trampolining. Committed to 'bringing out the gift' in every student, you will be play a key role in developing our extra -curricular sports provision, including leading teams at fixtures. You will be passionate about maintaining high standards of teaching and learning and relish the challenge of ensuring that every student is supported to achieve their full potential.
