Job description

A temporary 6 month opportunity has become available within the Specialist Mental Health Care Group for a 6 month fixed term Head of Operations post. The post will report to the Associate Director for Community Specialist Mental Health and All Age Disability Services. Working in collaboration with Strategic and place based CDs, the role is responsible for leading and developing a culture which ensures the safe, efficient and effective delivery of patient/client care across the Community SMH side of the SMH Care Group. Responsible for the delivery of operational and performance targets, the achievement of local and national standards, human resources, quality and governance targets and budgetary control for the Community SMH side of the SMH Care Group. A primary element of the role is to lead and operationally manage all clinical services assigned to the Care Group, ensuring a focus upon continuous improvement and development within clinical services for the benefit of patients, services users, carers and staff. Responsible for supporting the contribution (including performance), development and wellbeing of the individuals they directly line manage and ensuring direct reports do the same for staff in which they are responsible. Overseeing a culture in which staff is enabled to be the best that they can be.

  • Relevant professional qualifications at Masters Level
  • Post graduate management qualification or relevant experience
