As a Head of Operations you will lead and oversee operational activities for Plant Operations, including Fuel Manufacturing, Uranium Recovery, and Site Services. You will ensure safe operations and drive strategic initiatives to improve efficiency, safety, and productivity across the Springfields site. You will report directly to the Managing Director and oversee several key roles that report into you. This position is based on-site at the Springfields Fuel Site near Preston.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the plant, including: developing and implementing strategies to improve safety, efficiency and productivity metrics; champion adherence to safety, regulatory and company policies; analyse financial, production, maintenance, quality control, and other operational reports to ensure business objectives are achieved.
  • Champion and promote a culture of continuous improvement through the use of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma principles, Systematic Leadership, and other tools; identify and implement process improvements to enhance operations.
  • Plan, develop and implement strategic planning of the manufacturing goals, personnel development, and business objectives; plan and schedule production activities to meet customer requirements; monitor and analyse production metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Deploy staff to balance individual development needs, longer‑term organisational development goals and to achieve maximum effectiveness for the business.
  • Manage operational budgets; identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Serve in a critical outward‑facing role with direct interface to external partners including customers and regulators.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing or other process improvement methodologies is preferred.
