Overview

Are you a strategic HR leader with a passion for operational excellence and people-focused service delivery? We're looking for a dynamic Head of Operational HR to lead and evolve our HR services, ensuring they are consistent, efficient, and aligned with our mission of Building Homes. Changing Lives.

As a key member of the HR Leadership Team, you'll report directly to the Group HR Director, and work closely with the Head of Organisational Development and Head of Reward & Systems to deliver a joined-up people strategy that supports our growth and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Shape and deliver HR operational strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Advise senior leaders on employee relations and people practices.
  • Collaborate across HR functions to ensure integrated service delivery.

Operational Excellence

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of HR policies and processes.
  • Oversee employee relations casework, ensuring timely and values-led resolution.
  • Manage the annual HR calendar and ensure operational readiness.

HR Business Partnering

  • Lead and develop an industry leading HR Business Partner team.
  • Ensure proactive, commercially focused support across business units.
  • Monitor and evaluate HRBP impact and effectiveness.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure and advise on legal compliance across all HR practices and policies.
  • Lead internal audits and manage external legal and regulatory relationships.
  • Own HR policy governance and communication.

Data, Systems & Collaboration

  • Partner with Reward & Systems to ensure HR systems support delivery and reporting.
  • Use data and analytics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Report trends in HR metrics to senior leadership.

Culture & Engagement

  • Champion fairness, inclusion, and high performance.
  • Embed organisational values through HR processes.
  • Support a joined-up approach to employee experience.

Skills & Qualifications
  • CIPD Level 7 or equivalent experience.
