Job summary

Rotherham United FC is seeking a Head of Medical to lead the club’s Medical Department and oversee all medical matters for the First Team. The role involves optimising player availability through best scientific and medical practice and building a professional network, including university links for student placements and research.

The successful candidate will lead the medical team, set high standards, and communicate with other medical departments.

Qualifications

• Qualified physiotherapist registered with CSP and HCPC.
• Strong leadership and ability to manage a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, screening, rehabilitation and injury prevention in professional sport.

Responsibilities

• Lead all medical matters for the First Team.
• Take primary responsibility for clinical diagnosis and treatment of first-team injuries.
• Set and maintain high standards within the medical environment.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of medical and performance practitioners.
• Communicate effectively with other medical departments across the club.
• Build relationships with external institutions, including universities.
