Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Director of Medical Education to lead postgraduate and undergraduate education across its hospitals in Kendal and environs. You will shape strategy, governance and delivery of medical education for doctors, dentists and learners, aligned with NHS and GMC expectations.

The role requires GMC registration with Educational Supervisor/Trainer status, and a track record of senior educational leadership and cross-institution

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration and recognised Educational Supervisor/Trainer status.
• Postgraduate qualification in medical education, leadership, management or related discipline.
• Minimum of four years in current appointment; at least two years in a senior educational role.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible, strategic leadership for medical education across UHMBT and sites.
• Develop, implement and review a Medical Education Strategy aligned with priorities.
• Ensure medical education is integrated with clinical services, workforce plans and budgets.
• Represent the organisation on undergraduate and postgraduate medical education matters.
