Job summary

The role involves line managing staff, mentoring trainee teachers, and shaping curriculum and enrichment for all year groups. The ideal candidate holds a maths degree and UK teaching qualification, with proven leadership experience and a deep commitment to high-quality pedagogy.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team and developing others.
• Proven ability to improve teaching quality through schemes of work and high-quality resources.
• Strong understanding of maths pedagogy and subject content.
• Evidence of coaching and mentoring trainee teachers or staff.

Start date: January 2027 Reports to: Vice Principal/Principal Key responsibilities:

• Line manage team members including departmental post holders
• Ensure all post-holders are systematically trained to complete their roles to an exceptionally high standard
• Mentor NQTs, ATTs and any student teacher, support team members through coaching and/or mentoring as required
• Plan, monitor and evaluate the curriculum provision and enrichment for all year groups within the subject
• Create a positive climate for learning, by explicitly teaching lesson routines and applying behaviour systems consistently and fairly
• Qualified to teach and work in the U.K.
• Strong A Levels, or equivalent
• Degree in maths or related subject
• Mastery of and enthusiasm for maths
• Excellent understanding of both subject and general teaching pedagogy
• Experience of leading a team and/or developing others
