Job summary

Ark Pioneer Academy in the UK is seeking an enthusiastic Maths Lead Teacher to join from January 2027. You will line-manage departmental staff, mentor trainee teachers and drive high standards in teaching and learning.

You will plan and evaluate curriculum provision, develop schemes of work and resources, and foster a positive learning climate with consistent behaviour systems.

Qualifications

• Qualified to teach and work in the UK.
• Strong A Levels or equivalent.
• Degree in maths or related subject.

Responsibilities

• Line manage team members including departmental post holders.
• Ensure all post-holders are trained to complete their roles to a high standard.
• Mentor NQTs, ATTs and student teachers, support staff through coaching/mentoring.
• Plan, monitor and evaluate the curriculum provision and enrichment for all year groups within the subject.
• Create a positive climate for learning by teaching routines and applying behaviour systems consistently and fairly.

Key responsibilities:

• Line manage team members including departmental post holders
• Ensure all post-holders are systematically trained to complete their roles to an exceptionally high standard
• Mentor NQTs, ATTs and any student teacher, support team members through coaching and/or mentoring as required
• Plan, monitor and evaluate the curriculum provision and enrichment for all year groups within the subject
• Create a positive climate for learning, by explicitly teaching lesson routines and applying behaviour systems consistently and fairly

Qualification Criteria:

• Qualified to teach and work in the U.K.
• Strong A Levels, or equivalent
• Degree in maths or related subject

Knowledge & Skills:

• Mastery of and enthusiasm for maths
• Excellent understanding of both subject and general teaching pedagogy
• Experience of leading a team and/or developing others
• Experience of improving the quality of teaching and learning through the development of schemes of work and high quality resources
