Job summary

Clarence Recruitment is assisting a successful secondary school in Leicestershire to appoint an exceptional Head of Mathematics. The post leads a dedicated team, overseeing delivery of a rigorous KS3-5 curriculum and driving outstanding outcomes.

You will provide strategic leadership, develop a challenging Maths programme, monitor progress, coach staff, and ensure high-quality teaching and assessment across all key stages. Immediate start and competitive package.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Proven leadership experience in a secondary Mathematics department.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong and effective leadership for the Mathematics department, promoting a culture of excellence and high achievement.
• Lead the planning, development, and delivery of an ambitious and engaging Mathematics curriculum.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing strategies to raise attainment and close achievement gaps.
• Support, coach, and develop members of the department through mentoring, training, and performance management.
• Ensure consistently high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment across all key stages.
• Use data effectively to inform departmental priorities and drive continuous improvement.
• Promote a positive learning environment where students are challenged, motivated, and supported to achieve their full potential.
• Contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives and play a key role within the wider leadership team.
