At Muscle Food, we make healthy eating simple, accessible, and sustainable for everyone.
Founded in 2013, we’ve become one of the UK’s best‑known direct‑to‑consumer food brands — now generating £31M+ annual revenue through three powerful propositions:
- MuscleFood.com: High‑protein foods, snacks & supplements.
- PreppedPots.com: Chef‑prepared ready meals for everyday goals.
- GoalPlans.com: Tailored meal plans for weight loss & maintenance.
Following our 2025 reacquisition, we’re entering a bold new growth phase — unifying our entire ecosystem into one seamless brand and digital experience that redefines how people shop for health and wellness.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Head of Marketing to take full ownership of our brand, communications, and growth marketing agenda — blending strategic leadership with hands‑on execution. This role is ideal for a creative and commercially driven leader who can turn insight into impact, elevate our brand story, and drive measurable growth across acquisition, subscription, and lifetime value.
In year one, you’ll spend 60–70% of your time on execution — leading campaigns, creative output, and performance marketing — while shaping the long‑term brand and marketing function.
You will be based out of our HQ 4 days per week and WFH 1 day per week.
What You’ll Do
Leadership & Strategy
- Define and evolve Muscle Food’s brand and marketing strategy in line with commercial objectives.
- Lead brand positioning, creative direction, and campaign strategy for growth and customer engagement.
- Manage a significant monthly budget (c. £100K+) across paid media, creator partnerships, and influencer activity.
- Partner with the CEO and senior leadership team to unify messaging across all channels and propositions.
- Identify new market opportunities and category expansion to drive sustainable growth.
Executional Excellence
- Deliver high‑impact campaigns across launches, trading moments, and key seasonal periods.
- Oversee social and content strategy — with a strong focus on TikTok, Meta, and short‑form video.
- Build and scale influencer, creator, and PR partnerships that drive awareness and advocacy.
- Manage paid media performance across Meta, Google, and emerging channels.
- Collaborate with CRM and Data teams to grow engagement, retention, and lifetime value.
Team & Culture
- Lead and develop a small but agile marketing team and external partners.
- Foster a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Champion cross‑functional collaboration and position marketing as a central growth driver.
About You
You’ll thrive here if you’re:
- Entrepreneurial and hands‑on, equally comfortable shaping strategy and rolling up your sleeves.
- A creative storyteller with proven experience in social and creator‑led brand building.
- Data‑driven and commercial, linking brand activity directly to acquisition, retention, and revenue growth.
- Experienced leading marketing in a fast‑moving DTC environment (food, beverage, supplements, or wellness).
- Skilled in managing large budgets and multi‑channel campaigns (paid social, CRM, influencer, content).
- A confident team leader with experience coaching and developing high‑performing teams.
- Passionate about health, wellness, and helping customers live better.
What Success Looks Like
In your first 6–12 months, you’ll:
- Launch refreshed brand positioning, tone of voice, and creative identity.
- Build a scalable content engine across social and paid media.
- Deliver high‑impact campaign launches with measurable commercial outcomes.
- Create clarity, confidence, and pace within the marketing team.
Within two years, you’ll have the opportunity to progress to Director of Marketing, shaping Muscle Food’s brand strategy, culture, and market presence.
