Head of Marketing
November 2025
Location: Hybrid (remote-first, with regular working days in London)
Salary: £70-80k (depending on experience) plus benefits and equity
About Mobilise
Mobilise is a social care tech startup business, and has become the UK's fastest growing online provider of support for the UK's 13.6 million unpaid adult carers (someone who supports a family member or friend due to illness, disability, mental ill health or substance misuse issues). We believe caring for a family member, friend or neighbour should be properly supported so that together we care and thrive.
We've worked with 40+ local authorities and the NHS to find new ways to support carers in their areas. We have ambitious plans to grow the number of clients we work with, so that we can reach more carers and develop new tools.
We're a small but growing team with 24 full and part time members - many of whom have experience of caring. We work remotely, with one day a week working together in London. We are an inclusive employer, valuing diversity and the unique perspectives each individual brings.
We believe passionately in our mission, so we work hard to be ambitious in the change we make. We bring our whole selves to work, we support each other to learn and grow - including through learning from mistakes (and even celebrating them!). As a values led organisation our people have a values led approach.
The Role
The Head of Marketing will report to the Chief Operating Officer and work closely with the Co-Founders, serving as a key member of the organisation's executive leadership team - our "Team Heads" group.
This is a growth-driving leadership role that combines strategic thinking with transformational ambition. Your primary focus will be establishing Mobilise as the dominant player in our sector, positioning us not just as a market leader, but as the organisation that sets the standard for technology supporting unpaid carers. You will own our B2B marketing strategy and execution, working as a strategic partner to New Business and Partnerships teams to accelerate our penetration of the UK local authority market. You will also pioneer innovative B2C marketing focused on increasing unpaid carer engagement with Mobilise's digital services.
Primary Objectives
- Establish market leadership: Position Mobilise as the undisputed leader in technology provision for unpaid carers, setting new standards for what's possible in the sector
- Drive B2B pipeline growth: Significantly increase opportunity flow and pipeline conversion rates among local authorities and commissioners through strategic demand generation
- Enable sales success: Equip our New Business and Partnerships teams with compelling collateral, market insights, and sales enablement tools that close deals faster and change how commissioning decisions are made
- Scale carer engagement: Increase unpaid carers engaging with Mobilise's services through creative, authentic campaigns that demonstrate our impact and support client retention
- Grow the world's largest community of unpaid carers: Identify and deploy breakthrough approaches to more efficiently and cost-effectively identify and acquire new unpaid carers, setting new benchmarks for the sector
Who You Are
We're seeking an ambitious, commercially-minded marketing leader who thrives in high-growth environments and can balance mission-driven creativity with strong commercial results. You see marketing as a strategic catalyst for growth and believe the best work creates impact beyond pipeline metrics alone.
Essential Experience & Skills
- B2B SaaS marketing leadership with proven, significant experience in local government, govtech, or public sector contexts - with a track record of challenging conventional approaches in traditionally risk-averse environments
- Track record of driving revenue growth in early-stage or scaling organisations, with demonstrable impact on pipeline, sales outcomes, and business trajectory
- Deep sales enablement expertise, with experience transforming how sales teams engage prospects and accelerate conversions through compelling positioning and narrative
- End-to-end marketing ownership in an in-house setting, from strategy through execution and rigorous measurement
- Strong commercial acumen and data-informed decision making - you speak the language of metrics, ROI, and business impact while maintaining creative vision
- Strategic and creative thinking in equal measure, finding innovative solutions to achieve ambitious goals with realistic constraints
- Ability to shift markets, not just capture market share - you've changed how buyers think, what they value, and how they make decisions
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth Leadership
- Define and own an ambitious marketing strategy, working backward from challenging growth goals
- Partner closely with leadership teams to align marketing efforts with sales priorities, revenue targets, and market opportunities
- Contribute to company-wide strategic decisions as part of the leadership team, bringing commercial insight and market intelligence
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities and partnership channels to accelerate growth
- Develop and maintain deep understanding of local authority procurement, commissioning cycles, and decision-making dynamics - then work to position Mobilise advantageously within them
- Champion demand creation at scale, helping local authorities understand digital carer support as essential and innovative commissioning as the path forward
B2B Marketing & Sales Enablement
- Develop and execute demand generation strategies that deliver qualified leads and accelerate sales cycles
- Create compelling, differentiated value propositions, case studies, ROI analyses, and sales collateral that win competitive tenders and raise the bar for what "good" looks like
- Lead product marketing efforts to articulate clear differentiation and support go-to-market for new service launches
- Orchestrate integrated campaigns targeting key decision-makers and influencers across health, social care, and commissioning
- Establish Mobilise's thought leadership through strategic PR, sector events (e.g. NCASC), and content that positions us as the expert partner shaping the sector's future
- Build powerful relationships with key sector bodies, influencers, and partners to expand our reach, credibility, and influence
Team Leadership & Performance
- Lead and develop a high-performing marketing team that pushes creative and strategic boundaries, including B2B and content specialists
- Manage agency partnerships (digital marketing and PR) for maximum ROI, strategic alignment, and creative excellence
- Foster a culture of resourcefulness, creative courage, results-orientation, and continuous improvement
- Establish clear, ambitious KPIs and metrics to track marketing performance and genuine business impact
- Take a data-informed, test-and-learn approach to all campaigns, optimising based on what drives real outcomes and rapidly scaling what works
B2C Marketing & Carer Engagement
- Oversee digital and performance marketing to drive increased engagement among unpaid carers
- Design creative, authentic campaigns for carer audiences that represent user needs, demonstrate our impact, and set high standards for how organisations engage with unpaid carers
- Create experiences and content that transform carers' relationship with support, community, and possibility
- Use carer engagement data and stories to strengthen B2B positioning and proof points
- Balance mission-driven messaging with commercial objectives in all communications
The Team
You will lead the full marketing function, including:
- A small team of content marketers focused on engaging unpaid carers
- A B2B marketing function focused on local authority partners
- Two established agency partners (digital performance marketing and PR)
This role sits at the most senior level of decision-making within the company. B2B marketing is viewed as a critical driver of our growth strategy, and you will be expected to contribute significantly to overall organisational success beyond your functional remit.
