This isn’t about brand fluff, it’s about real commercial impact. You’ll be part of our senior leadership team, helping shape the direction of the business while building a brilliant marketing function from the ground up.

Job purpose, tasks and responsibilities

You’ll lead and grow a high-performing team currently managing agencies, with plans to expand in-house while being accountable for results that directly contribute to revenue. This is a hands-on, commercial role where your success will be measured by pipeline growth and ROI, not just brand visibility.

  • Commercial Accountability - Drive marketing-sourced and influenced pipeline growth, aligning strategy and budget to revenue targets.
  • Pipeline & Lead Generation - Generate high-quality leads through multi-channel campaigns and targeted ABM strategies.
  • Market Strategy & Positioning - Define and execute positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies based on market insights.
  • Team Leadership & Agency Management - Build and lead a high-performing marketing team while managing agency partnerships.
  • Marketing Operations & Technology - Own marketing automation, data integrity, and performance reporting across platforms.
  • Campaign Execution - Deliver integrated, data-driven campaigns that meet KPIs and drive pipeline impact.
  • Senior Leadership Contribution - Influence business strategy with market insights and represent marketing at SLT level.

What’s the Best Thing About This Role?

This is a brand-new role within a premier provider of Health & Safety training and consultancy services, offering real opportunity to shape the business.

You’ll have the autonomy to set marketing strategy, allocate budget, and directly influence commercial decisions. This role allows you to make a positive impact on the business while leading and developing a high-performing marketing team.

What’s the Most Challenging Thing About This Role?

This is a high-expectation role where marketing must deliver tangible commercial results. You’ll need to strategically lead the marketing function to generate measurable impact on revenue, pipeline, and overall business growth.

Essential and desirable capabilities

We always support colleagues to develop their skills but to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to tick most of these boxes...

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A solid marketing background with proven commercial impact.
  • A track record of pipeline generation - you've driven measurable revenue growth through marketing.
  • Budget management experience - comfortable allocating £X across channels based on ROI.
  • HubSpot, Marketo or similar CRM expertise - you can build workflows, scoring, and reporting yourself.
  • A data-driven mindset - you make decisions based on attribution, conversion rates, and ROI metrics.
  • Agency management experience - you've held agencies accountable for performance.
  • Team leadership experience - you've built or developed marketing teams (hiring, coaching, performance management).
  • Commercial acumen - you understand P&L, sales processes, and business strategy.
  • Senior stakeholder management - comfortable operating at SLT level.

To be successful in this role, it would be great if you have:

  • H&S, training, or professional services sector experience.
  • Experience in high-growth business environments.
  • ABM and enterprise marketing experience.
  • Product launch and go-to-market expertise.

We know it’s not a skill, but the successful candidate must have permission to work in the role’s location by the start of their employment.
