Job summary

The University of Edinburgh is seeking a Content Acquisition & Access Manager to lead strategies for acquiring and providing access to library resources. You will manage the annual cycle of purchases, oversee the £9.3M budget, and lead a dedicated team within Library Services.

This role offers a 35-hour week, hybrid working up to two days remote, and the opportunity to shape access to scholarly resources across the university and sector.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in academic/research libraries leading content acquisition and e-resources.
• Experience managing large, complex budgets.
• Experience managing a large team.
• Understanding of the academic library content supply chain and consortial bodies.
• Excellent communication skills with negotiation and influence.
• Excellent IT skills including integrated library management systems and data analysis.
• Experience managing change and developing services and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategies for cost effective acquisition, discovery and access to library resources.
• Manage annual cycle of library materials purchase and access.
• Oversee a £9.3M Library Materials Budget.
• Lead Content Acquisition & Access Team and develop services.
• Drive innovations in e-resource operations and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with University colleagues and external sector on future provision.
