Responsibilities
- Strategic Legal Guidance
- Advise the CEO, executive team, and board of directors on legal strategies, regulatory requirements, and potential risks.
- Provide counsel on business strategies, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, and other high-stakes matters.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local and international laws and regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in legal and regulatory landscapes affecting the business, including those in countries of operation (UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UAE, and India).
- Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and government agencies.
- Corporate Governance
- Oversee governance policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with best practices and shareholder interests.
- Manage board-related legal matters, including shareholder agreements, resolutions, and documentation.
- Risk Management
- Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Ensure robust processes for handling disputes, litigation, and arbitration.
- Contract Management
- Review, draft, and negotiate key contracts, including vendor agreements, customer contracts, and strategic partnerships.
- Standardise contract processes and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Leadership and Team Development
- Lead and develop the legal team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative environment.
- Ensure the team has the tools and resources to support global operations effectively.
- Policy Development
- Establish and maintain internal policies to ensure ethical practices and legal compliance.
- Oversee training programs to educate employees on legal and compliance matters.
- Litigation and Dispute Resolution
- Manage and oversee litigation, arbitration, and mediation proceedings.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary.
- Performance Metrics
- Compliance rate across all jurisdictions.
- Legal risk mitigation outcomes.

Qualifications
- Law degree (JD or equivalent) from a reputable institution.
- Licensed to practise law in at least one jurisdiction relevant to the company's operations.
Experience
- Minimum of 12 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience in a global organisation, preferably in retail, luxury goods, or a highly regulated industry.
- Proven track record in corporate governance, compliance, and risk management.
