Job description

We’re looking for a Head of Kitchen Development to help shape the next chapter of the Tomos Parry’s three Super 8 restaurants; Brat, Shoreditch, Brat x Climpson’s Arch and Mountain in Soho. This is a leadership role, rooted in presence, working closely with Tomos — not just overseeing kitchens, but being in them. You’ll mentor our Head Chefs and Sous Chefs, help develop future leaders, work to create consistently excellent, well-run kitchens that reflect our values: craft care and respect for people along with helping source produce and improve our supply chains.

Super 8 is a independent group of unique restaurants. We believe that beautiful produce and authentic cooking can thrive in atmospheric restaurants that are as rewarding to work in as they are to dine in. We’re known for our innovative farming partnerships and progressive team development programmes.

Over the years, Smoking Goat, Kiln, Brat, Brat x Climpson’s Arch, and Mountain have earned accolades including Michelin stars for both Mountain and Brat, recognition in the World' 50 Best and ranked highly in the National Restaurant Awards.

What you’ll be doing

Team Development & Mentorship

Guide Head Chefs and Sous Chefs, helping them build confidence and clarity in their leadership. Design a clear development pathway, including:

  • A structured Sous Chef programme
  • Progression plans for each team member
  • Monthly workshops and team-building initiatives
Operational Improvement

Support all sites in simplifying systems, reducing stress points, and enhancing flow.

  • Optimise planning, prep, and scheduling across kitchens
  • Lead improvements in sourcing and supplier relationships
  • Ensure compliance and admin are consistently delivered to a high standard

Culture & Leadership

Champion a working culture rooted in inclusivity, collaboration, and respect.

  • Promote open, calm communication in service
  • Anticipate and address any challenges proactively
  • Partner with People & Culture on performance reviews, coaching, and L&D
Succession & Future Planning

Your long-term thinking will help futureproof our kitchens.

  • Sign off a clear, robust succession plan within six months
  • Launch an apprenticeship programme to build a strong, sustainable talent pipeline

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong leadership style, where you inspire and develop your teams
  • Experience leading high-functioning kitchens across multiple sites
  • A passion for people development and a knack for bringing out the best in others
  • Strong organisational skills with a calm, solutions-focused approach
  • A deep respect for seasonality, sourcing, and traditional cooking methods

What’s in it for you:

  • 28 days of annual leave, including bank holidays.
  • Access to courses, resources, and training to enhance your career.
  • 50% discount at all our restaurants, along with complimentary staff meals during your shifts.
  • Discounted dining at various local establishments near Super 8 Restaurants.
  • Enhanced maternity leave, pension scheme, subsidised mental health support, and a cycle-to-work scheme.
  • Refer a Friend scheme—recommend someone to join Super 8 and receive a bonus!
  • Opportunities for both international and national travel to visit our suppliers and learn about sourcing ingredients and beverages.
  • £300 contribution towards the purchase of a work laptop for all salaried staff members.

If this role sounds like a great fit for you, we’d love to see your application! Please keep in mind that it may take us 1 to 2 weeks to get back to you due to the high volume of applications. Thanks for your patience!
