The Company

The Role

This is a senior leadership role that will be the second in command to the CTO, responsible for the day-to-day management of IT and development functions across the Group.

The successful candidate will also contribute significantly to the strategic direction of technology, act as a bridge between IT and the business, and play a key role in succession planning for the CTO role.

• Oversee the daily operations of IT and development functions across the Group companies
• Provide line management, mentorship, and support to team leads and developers
• Ensure consistent performance management, career development, and skills growth across the teams
• Act as the senior escalation point for IT and development issues.
• Lead, influence, and develop the IT teams across several businesses.

The Applicant

Our ideal candidate will have held a similar Head of IT role in a logistics, supply chain, warehousing, or related technology-led industry (strongly preferred).

• Understanding of the operational realities of logistics businesses and their IT needs.
• Using your insight and experience to shape the way forward, creating innovation and outperforming our clients' competitors.
• With a broad knowledge of IT infrastructure, enterprise systems, and cloud platforms together with a strong background in software development and delivery practices.
• Familiarity with modern development frameworks, DevOps, and agile methodologies.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

This role is based in the West Midlands, so you will need to be there at least 3-4 days per working week.
