Job Description

Please note, thisrole requires extensive travel (more than 50%) across Europe covering Germany, France, Netherlands, UK (Multiple sites) & Belgium.

As Head of IT Infrastructure you will be responsible for the implementation and operations of all Eurofins Forensic Services (EFS) technology infrastructures, which includes data centres, network and server services, telephony, service monitoring, user support / help desk, workstation management, servers, storage and related software.

This position is operationally responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity, reliability and security for all IT systems and infrastructure. You will lead the Infrastructure and Operations team of professionals with overall responsibility for technology infrastructure planning and deployment of technology for various projects across Europe.

  • Set the overall vision and strategy for infrastructure development, aligning it with business objectives and technology roadmaps.
  • Lead, mentor, motivate and develop infrastructure teams, managing their performance, skill development, and career progression delivering a great IT experience to EFS users and ensure they are working to KPI’s and within SLA’s
  • Definegaps or duplication leading to resizing & restructure effectively.
  • Be the Technical Lead for new transitions and projects requiring architectural change, driving best practices, group guidelines & driving to remove technical debt.
  • Define the overall infrastructure and Cloud strategy at Eurofins Forensics Services (EFS)in collaboration with peers and stakeholders.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of systems, networks, and data centres to ensure performance, stability, and availability.
  • Drivea culture of continuous improvement across the team to improve service performance and cost management.
  • Implement security policies, ensure compliance with regulations, and develop disaster recovery and backup procedures. Work closely with Group InfrastructureTeams, establish strong working partnerships and RACI Matrix to define clear ownerships.
  • Manage the infrastructure budget, control costs, and oversee relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Communicate with all levels of staff and be confident to discuss IT matters with Managing Directors of the regions.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, other Heads of ITs across the business to ensure all tasks are identified and that each task has realistic timelines allocated to it.
  • Provide support and act as an escalation point for the EFS IT team and the Business for all
  • Working jointly with the compliance team to develop, implement and manage core infrastructure security.
  • Leading Infrastructure discussions in Merger and Acquisitions
  • Lead, Manage and Maintain all EFS IT Infrastructure hardware and software.
Ensure all systems are updated with the latest definitions
  • Administer- Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, Classifier, Exchange DAG, G-suite, RDS / Citrix, KPI, SCCM, Windows Clusters, DFS, AV, Security Tools, etc.
  • Manage and Administer EFS fibre channel switches / storage and virtual environment
Qualifications
  • Proven Senior IT leadership experience, managing infrastructure across multiple sites and leading high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting and optimising IT spend.
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • ITIL certified, with a solid understanding of IT service management best practice.
  • Microsoft certified, with strong knowledge of Azure, Microsoft 365 and core infrastructure technologies.
