Job summary

Reading Borough Council is seeking an exceptional Head of Service for Integrated Children’s Pathways to shape the future of children’s services in Reading. You will lead transformation across CSPOA, Disabilities and Integrated Assessment, working with partners across health, education, police and the voluntary sector to improve outcomes for children and families.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Senior leadership experience in children’s social care.
• Proven ability to lead service transformation and partnership work.
• Commitment to outcomes for children and families.
• Ability to develop others and sustain high performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across the CSPOA, Children with Disabilities and Integrated Assessment Services.
• Lead and support two Service Managers, fostering excellence and accountability.
• Ensure safeguarding arrangements and high-quality decision-making across the service.
• Drive performance, quality assurance and service improvement for better outcomes.
• Develop and strengthen partnerships across education, health, police, voluntary sector and wider community organisations.
• Influence and contribute to strategic planning across the children’s partnership landscape.
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement throughout your services.
• Ensure children, young people and families remain at the heart of service design and delivery.
